Las Vegas Raiders’ star wide receiver Davante Adams has reportedly requested a trade, as confirmed by several sources, including NFL Network insiders Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo, along with ESPN’s Adam Schefter. According to the reports, Adams informed the Raiders on Monday of his desire to be moved, and the team is said to be open to a potential deal. Schefter noted that a trade package for Adams could involve a second-round draft pick along with additional compensation.
CNN reached out to the Raiders for a statement but has not received a response. During his appearance on the ‘Up & Adams’ show on Tuesday, when asked if he had already played his last game for the Raiders, Adams remained composed: “All I can control is this conversation we’re having right now. After this, I’ll move on to the next thing, get in a good workout, and focus on what’s ahead.”
Speculation surrounding Adams’ future began earlier in the week when Las Vegas head coach Antonio Pierce’s Instagram account liked a post from Sports Illustrated discussing whether Adams had already taken the field for the last time as a Raider.
The like was later removed, fueling further rumors. Adams addressed the situation on Tuesday, explaining he had not yet spoken with Pierce: “I haven’t heard from him. I don’t really know what’s going on. Social media’s a beast, and people are reaching out.”
Adams is guaranteed $16.8 million this season, with two years remaining on his contract. In 2025, he is set to make $35.6 million, followed by $36.6 million in 2026—neither year includes guaranteed money. Despite being 31 years old, Adams remains one of the league’s elite receivers and is expected to draw significant interest from other teams.
Adams missed the Raiders’ Week 4 win against the Cleveland Browns due to a hamstring injury. In the three games he’s played this season, he’s recorded 18 catches for 209 yards and one touchdown. He is coming off his fourth straight 1,000-yard receiving season. Adams was traded to the Raiders in 2022 from the Green Bay Packers in exchange for a first and second-round pick.
Over his 11-year career, Adams, a Fresno State alum, has accumulated 10,990 receiving yards and 96 touchdowns. He has been named to the Pro Bowl six times, earned first-team All-Pro honors three times, and led the NFL in receiving touchdowns in both 2020 and 2022.
