Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock recently came together to mark the 30th anniversary of *Speed*, a film that left an indelible mark on action cinema.
The duo appeared at a special screening held at Beyond Fest in Los Angeles, hosted at the iconic Egyptian Theatre, part of the American Cinematheque. Joining them on stage was Jan de Bont, the director of the 1994 blockbuster, where they reminisced about their time working on the film.
*Speed*, a high-octane thriller, featured Reeves as Officer Jack Traven and Bullock as Annie Porter, trapped on a bus rigged to explode if it slowed down below a certain speed. During the event, de Bont revealed that an impressive 11 buses were used throughout the production.
Reeves humorously added that the film’s intense focus on detail meant an overwhelming number of cameras were used. “I once counted 22 cameras in the front alone,” he shared in a video clip from the evening. “There’d be a camera for everything—one just for Sandra’s hand, another for when I turned.”
The overwhelming success of the original led to a sequel, and more recently, Bullock and Reeves reunited for the *50 MPH* podcast. During the conversation, the two stars hinted that they wouldn’t dismiss the idea of collaborating again on a potential *Speed 3*. “I mean, you know—we’d knock it out of the park,” Reeves remarked with enthusiasm.
